David qualified from The Royal College of Surgeons in 1986 and completed specialist training in Anaesthesia in Ireland in 1995. Pursuing an Intensive Care Fellowship in Australia, he was admitted to the College of Intensive Care Medicine in 1998. Being enamoured by the Australian way of life he became a staff specialist in Geelong in 1998 and an Australian citizen in 2000. He has an interest in all things critical care especially cardiothoracic Intensive Care with qualifications in critical care echocardiography and ECMO. He is also interested in education and training and runs our monthly Echo Club, minimising patient risk and was previously medical director of organ donation at Barwon Health.
